Rooms is a Roblox game created on 5/23/2020 (23 May, 2020) and published by a Roblox user called nicorocks5555 under the horror genre.

Rooms currently has 17M+ visits, 111K+ favorites and a 80% like ratio (46K+ Likes and 11K+ Dislikes) as of 12/06/2025 (December 6th, 2025), and only a maximum of 15 players can fit per server.

Since 9 September, 2020, the game has stopped receiving updates and has been abandoned by nicorocks5555. Rooms is being entirely recreated with a sequel game for it.

As of 3 December, 2024, Rooms has been locked for <13 users due to it not being age rated.

When was the time Roblox announced as of September 30th, Rooms has been age rated and now playable for <13 users.

Gameplay

The Ambience of Rooms before audio update

Rooms is a Roblox multiplayer horror game that has a really simple gameplay dynamic. Go through doors and rooms and hide from the monsters that try and kill you. But the game has a really effective way to build up tension as you never know when the Monsters will start to chase you, and as each room gets darker and darker till the point that using your Flashlight or Gummy Flashlight is essential.

There are two known Monsters currently in the game that hunt players down after reaching specific rooms, All PC, Mobile, VR and Console players can join and play Rooms, however, Console, VR and Mobile players cannot recharge the Gummy Flashlight or Sprint, but since Sprinting often isn't needed and you can choose to simply not use the Gummy Flashlight, Rooms is playable on all platforms. It is also notably harder for Mobile players to see as rooms get darker, causing them to use up Batteries, sooner and for longer than Console, VR and PC players.

There is only one gamepass in the game, and that is the Gummy Flashlight.

Private Servers

Private Servers allow the player to only invite selected people into their server, they cost 10, however they're usually not needed as opening the first door (A-001) prevents any other player from joining their game. So if the players have their select group and they open the first door, nobody else can join their game, making their server an artificial private server.

• If you look closely at the door label in the thumbnail or the icon, it seemingly appears to be filled with nothing for strange reasons, this was theorized that likely due to script to make it work.

• The longest distance that a player has ever reached was a distance of 4743 rooms by ashahanov before their computer had crashed.
  • The second longest distance that a player has ever reached was a distance of 4022 rooms by Xiutecuhtli before losing their internet connection.
  • The third longest distanced that a player has ever reached was a distance of 2164 rooms by ForceLP before losing his internet connection
• The theoretical limit for the amount of Rooms that can generate would be approximately A-20000, as at that point Roblox cannot generate any more rooms since it crosses 1M studs. The reason why nothing generates at 1M studs or more is due to lag issues if there's blocks 1M studs away from players. This limit can cause complications in some games, like Rooms where the game won't be able to go for forever.
  • However, it is virtually impossible to make it that far due to performance issues and Roblox servers are unable to last for more than 7 days.
  • If however, Rooms could generate beyond that, it would take you A-20000 until you stop being able to move due to integer skipping (9 digits studs)
• The reason why Rooms is likely not going to get updated is because nicorocks5555 said the game's code is too old and he has no real interest on it
  • However, nicorocks5555 said that he may make "Rooms but better" at some point and has a few ideas for it.
